My posh obsession this week is tuxedo pants, a classic menswear style that really works for women. Versatile, they go pretty seamlessly from work to play. There is an amazingly flattering optical allusion that those big vertical lines can provide by taking eyeballs up and optically squeezing you in.
The craze for tuxedo pants hit the market last spring. It's just starting to hit critical mass. Expect to see a lot of this for fall. Designers are striping it up--on pants, jeans etc. You can either take the more polished route with a pair of trousers or keep it casual with denim versions. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect black pair that go from day to night...
JCrew currently has a few great options, the andie chino which pretty much sold out and is on backorder. Luckily, I got a pair early. Another JCrew option is the Pixie tuxedo stripe which the salesgirl talked me into...still on the fence about these. They read more track & field than tuxedo to me...to be continued. Shopbop and Piperlime also have some cool options. The penultimate is of course the St. Laurent version which makes me swoon every time I see them. Stay Posh!
St. Laurent- quite possibly perfect
