Posh Style! Why You Should be Wearing Red

Red. It is certainly not a color you wear when you're feeling shy. Wear red when you want to be noticed. The color of stop signs, a bombshell's lips, anger, extreme heat--you get it right? Red is power. Strike your pose. Stay Posh!

Posh Style! The Power of Leopard and How to harness It

Let's make power moves...

As I was pondering just what to write about for Farfetch.com's inspirational Style Guide https://www.farfetch.com/uk/style-guide --I literally swooned (out loud) when I saw this article (https://www.farfetch.com/uk/style-guide/trends-subcultures/leopard-prints-how-to-pull-off-the-look/).

Coincidentally, I'd just posted one of my favorite quotes from Jenna Lyon's on my Societe Urbane insta account. Kismit.

Leopard is truly one of my favorite prints.  While I am prone to wearing black, white and grey neutrals--I will, as I've noted in the past, rock a dope print in a heartbeat.  Leopard is not always easy to pull off without looking ehhh shall we say cheap?  The print, fabric and shoe choice are infinitely key in pulling this look off--that is in case your goal is to look cheap albeit ironically so --in which case more power--do you.

Leopard's origins are marked in the past as a fabric symbolic of luxury, power and exotic locales. A signifier of power and wealth (can someone say posh?). It also became a signature symbol of rebelliousness (I'm with it!). And now as it were and the article states, "contemporary designers can’t get enough" and "these days, it can be practically considered a neutral"  Well in that case...

I pulled a few of my favorite dreamy options from Farfetch.com.  Check out their Style Guide for more style inspiration. Stay Posh!

Posh Beauty! Friday Face: LXMI-- Proves Nature Always Wins

Public service announcement.  Try this.

I got sucked into one of those sketch FB ads that offer free samples with shipping.  I was in a "why not" kind of mood. Plus, this was also how I snagged a pair of my favorite leggings.

Anyhoo, I entered my "in case of spam" internet alias and alternate address.  Glad I did.  Natural luxe beauty products.  I'm with it.  Clean skin as normal. Apply. Results: Moisturizing, not too heavy (don't over apply) and super soft skin. And it's natural!

As I get a little older, I'm getting quite par-ticular about what goes in and on my body.  If I can't pronounce it...it doesn't go in or on.   The only current exception is my NARs addiction. Don't judge me.  Anyway check this out.  Stay Posh!

LXMI, pronounced luxe-me, was founded after Leila Janah (founder) had a chance discovery of Nilotica, LXMI's signature ingredient, at a market in Uganda. She was astounded by the rare butter's ability to transform her moisture-deprived, overly-traveled skin from lackluster to luminous. Btw LXMI is named after the founder's favorite Hindu goddess, whose four hands are thought to represent prosperity, liberation, morality, and love – two giving hands and two receiving hands. Get into it!

The brand is committed to three distinct brand tenets:
  • Pure, rare ingredients from unique terroir

  • Going beyond charity to provide work for women, and

  • Natural and organic botanicals, often safe-enough-to-eat

Their Core beliefs are pretty awesome as well.
  • The way we treat our skin – and people – matters.
  • Work is at the core of human dignity.
  • Giving work is the ultimate solution to global poverty.
Anyway there's more background on their site www.lxmi.com

For the record I received NADA for this post.  But should the beauty Gods be listening I would gladly accept a gift of their balm and report back.
